Conlanging

Conlanging, "constructed languaging", or the process of making fictional languages, has always been super fun for me. It started around high school, when I had to make a custom cipher as an assignment in my cybersecurity course. The cipher took all of the frequencies of letter usage in English, converted them into base64, and then grouped each word into 3s. Something like this:
"Foobar"
"Mi4 zMC A3L jY4 IDc uNj ggM S40 OSA 4Lj EyI DYu MDI ="

Following this, I made Hoolotan, a French/English inspired conlang where every single word started with the letter H. It was pretty rough, but I found that I had a lot of fun with it, so I continued on by making Ictuk, or Ictul, or Ictulan...I wasn't super solid on the name until a couple iterations in. Ictuk was designed specifically for the antagonist species in the book I was working on at the time, Omicron Ceti.
